Elevating wine gifting with premium packaging
A sophisticated gift box range combines premium aesthetics, innovative functionality and robust protection for Kjær & Sommerfeldt’s wines.
Kjær & Sommerfeldt, one of Denmark’s most renowned wine merchants, wanted to create a portfolio of luxury wine gift packaging that reflected the exclusivity and quality of its brand. Smurfit Westrock worked closely with Kjær & Sommerfeldt to develop an elegant packaging range for one-, two-, three- and six-bottle formats, combining a sophisticated look and feel with the strength needed to transport heavy glass bottles safely.
The Challenge
Kjær & Sommerfeldt wanted to elevate the gifting experience while maintaining the functionality required for wine packaging. The solution needed to stand out visually and reinforce the brand’s premium positioning while providing a strong, reliable structure capable of protecting bottles throughout transport, handling and delivery.
The Approach
Smurfit Westrock’s design team combined premium print and finishing techniques to create a rich tactile and visual experience. A soft-touch varnish, oversized K&S typography in cool gray, high-gloss UV varnish and a Pantone silver logo work together to deliver a refined aesthetic. A durable fabric carrying strap and reinforced attachment holes provide both secure and comfortable handling.
The Result
The new gift box range transforms traditional wine packaging into a premium gifting experience. Available in one-, two-, three- and six-bottle formats, the range combines distinctive design with robust construction and practical functionality. The result is packaging that protects the product while strengthening Kjær & Sommerfeldt’s premium brand identity and enhancing the perceived value of the wine.
