Skirting 4 U is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of MDF skirting boards, architraves, dado rails and mouldings. The Challenge
Shipping around 500 sample orders each month, Skirting 4 U relied on bubble-wrapped jiffy bags in multiple sizes. While functional, the plastic packaging conflicted with sustainability goals and lacked the premium feel the brand wanted customers to experience. Packing was also inefficient, requiring extra wrapping and multiple envelope sizes, increasing fulfilment time, material use and overall waste.
The Approach
Working with Smurfit Westrock UK, Skirting 4 U redesigned its sample packaging using custom mailer boxes with precision-cut inserts. The solution needed to meet Royal Mail size requirements to control postage costs while securely holding samples and minimising material use. Careful consideration of structure, materials and print delivered a cohesive range that balanced protection, presentation and efficiency.
